Recently built, the cogeneration biomass power plant guarantees the environmental-friendly thermal and electric energy self-sufficiency all year round, thanks to the Italian ESPE technology (www.espegroup.com). The plant functioning depends on the gasification of the chipped wood produced by the surrounding woodland cleaning-up. After the drying, the chipped wood is carried into a machine which processes the wood into Syngas, a particular kind of gas that, after being cooled by a heat exchanger then filtered, powers an endothermic motor which produces 50 kW per hour of electric power through an alternator. The thermal energy (110 kW per hour), derives from the gas and motor cooling. This biomass power plant let us stop the use of diesel oil.
